A bit about myself
I am Aravind from India. Moved to Helsinki an year ago for work. I work as a software engineer here. Outiside work, my life is fueled by different hobbies like hiking, photography, solo travels, board games, beach volleyball.
How did I find out about Helsinki Friends? What kind of an impact has it had on my life?
I find about Helsinki Friends from reddit helsinki group if I remember correctly. I joined the facebook group and later Jamie added me to the Telegram group.
I got a lot of friends, and found different activity groups from here. For example, I go to play beach volleyball and board games with the people I met from this group.
Impact
So I would say this group have a played a key role in helping me find different activities to do. And with the rapid growth of this group I am sure I will have
more things to do with other members of this group. Nowadays thanks to new Telegram feature to open topics which has open the door to involve in different
activities more conveniently. I hope to be involved in some of those activities at least.
What do I think we could improve to make the experience more enjoyable for members?
Nothing comes to my mind. Previously, it was difficult to find activities organized by members on Telegram. But with new topics feature, I find it really easy to find activities.
What would I say to anyone either moving to Helsinki or visiting – would I recommend to join us and why?
Yes of course. I am sure new people moving to Helsinki or visiting would definitely benefit from this group as we have many helpful and active people in it. You can find almost anything from this, be it for any activities or for some help. So for sure, this group will be valuable for people moving or visiting Helsinki.

I hope this group will stay forever and the quality doesn’t go down :=)
